Nico Melchior
Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Association
Nico Melchior is a geographer and has been working for the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley for more than ten years. As a project manager, he initiates, coordinates and develops projects for the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Association. All municipalities, cities, districts and federal states that have a share in the World Heritage Site have come together in the association. His work focuses on regional, urban and cultural landscape development, as well as mediation and educational work on UNESCO World Heritage. A particular focus of his work is on preserving the wine-growing culture of the Middle Rhine Valley. Since 2020, as managing director of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Local Action Group, he has also been responsible for the financial support of rural projects in the region.
